The 2014 Chevy Silverado is getting a lot of fanfare ever since Chevrolet “leaked” an image of the ’14 prototype on a testdrive. This came in conjunction with a GM press release which coyly avoided any real details about the new design.
Which may be apart of their strategy to get people, like myself, to speculate what’s next for the ’14 Silverado. As we can see from the photo, it looks as if it’s ready for production. GM has stated that manufacturing will begin in 2013.
Although hard to tell, the new model seems to closely resemble the current pickup. Interior spy shots show a redesigned cabin with a variety of creature comforts that one would expect out of a modern truck.
The real question is if Chevy will match Ford’s EcoBoost system with a new turbocharged V-6, if so will it be enough to topple the F-Series as best selling truck? Only time will tell.
